TENCEL™ Lyocell Bedlinen

There are various types of TENCEL™ fibers namely TENCEL™ Modal and TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers. Between the two variants, Lyocell fibers are the newest generation of TENCEL™ fibers made by Lenzing and they do have more benefits than the older modal fibers. TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are semi synthetic and produced sustainably through the extraction of wood pulp from eucalyptus trees. TENCEL™ bed linen are naturally hypoallergenic, making them the ideal bed linen for sensitive skin. Cotton Bedlinen

Cotton beddings come in a wide variety ranging from affordable options such as raw cotton bed linen and pima cotton bed linen, to luxury bed linen such as egyptian cotton bed linen. It is not without good reason that this bedding material is so widely used and available. In general, cotton bed linen are breathable, high quality and mostly affordable. They are excellent at keeping you cozy on colder nights without becoming stuffy on warm nights. Furthermore, they also are low maintenance and easy to care whereby they are durable to withstand the differing temperatures in washing and drying. The softness of cotton bedlinen however, will not be as soft as TENCEL™ bedlinen from first use and will instead get softer with every wash. Thread count

Thread count is another determining factor on how soft and durable your bed linen will be. It is defined as the total number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. It is also a common misconception that High bed sheet thread count instantly means that the beddings are of top quality and the ones you should choose but this is not the case.One more significant factor of why high thread count bedlinen may not be suitable for you is that they tend to trap more heat which may not be ideal for hot sleepers especially in Singapore. Staple length

Staple length is defined as the length of the fibers in fabrics. This affects the softness of the bedlinen it is made into. 

Yarn count

Yarn count is the numerical value that indicates how thick or thin a yarn is. They often play an important role in determining the breathability of your beddings.

Weave type

Weave method forms the structure of a fabric and can essentially determine its strength and durability as well as it’s temperature regulating properties.

Sateen weave

The sateen weave method makes use of a one yarn under, and three or four yarns over construction pattern. This allows sateen weave bed linen to achieve that signature sheen and drape quality. Bedlinen utilizing this weave method also tend to be more wrinkle resistant than bed linen of other weave patterns.
