The bedding material we couldn’t say no to.
Eco-friendly, ultra-breathable and smooth to the touch.
Feels like silk without the silk-farming guilt, TENCEL™ is made entirely out of natural fibres with a certified carbon neutral production. TENCEL™ retains and even improves on the desired properties of traditional fabric (think silk, cotton, wool etc.) such as hypoallergenic, breathable, silky smooth.
With this amazing fabric, it is all in the hands of the craftsmen to make a good product. We’ve chosen to use the fabric in its purest form, because that’s the luxury we want to promise you.
Each Weavve lyocell bedding starts with the best Lyocell fibres (100% Lenzing TENCEL™) that are spun into the finest 80s yarn count threads. These fine single ply threads are then woven into 400 thread count fabric, giving you stronger, smoother and lighter sheets.
See our blog post on how to choose great bed linen to find out more.
Produced by Austrian textile company Lenzing AG that has revolutionised quality textile production for more than 30 years, TENCEL™ is the brand name for its range of semi-synthetic fibres.
A TENCEL™ branded Lyocell differs greatly from other types of generic Lyocell*. While they are all made of wood pulp, TENCEL™ branded lyocell ensures sustainable production of the fabric, harvesting from natural forests and sustainably managed tree farms, using quality eucalyptus wood.
The eucalyptus tree trunks are chopped into small wood chips which are then soaked in a non-toxic organic solution to break the pulp down into a paste. This paste is then ejected under high pressure from a special spinneret nozzle to form fibre threads. The threads are eventually processed into yarn which is then woven to make fabric.
Not all TENCEL™ sheets are made the same - our sheets are purely made with 100% TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres from Lenzing, offering you the authentic buttery soft feel that TENCEL™ promises. Woven with long fibres and a sateen weave, our sheets are lighter, finer and more durable than most with a 400 thread count, a cool welcome to luxury sleep.
TENCEL™ has temperature regulating and ultra-absorbent properties that enhances its breathability. Lyocell fibres wick excess moisture quickly, keeping the body cool and dry during sleep in a wide variety of climates. With our TENCEL™ bed linen, you can be sure to stay cool throughout and have less worries over night sweats disrupting your sleep.
Thanks to the natural structure of the lyocell fibre, TENCEL™ is most well known for being exceptionally luxurious and smooth on the skin. It offers a silky smooth hand feel that is more gentle than regular cotton and linen, suitable even for babies and those with sensitive skin or allergies.
The production of TENCEL™ avoids using harsh chemicals to break down its origin material, eucalyptus wood pulps, offering its hypoallergenic properties far beyond other fibres from regular cotton, bamboo and rayon fabrics. Its naturally quick moisture wicking property also reduces bacteria proliferation, with our Oeko-Tex® certification, you can rest easy knowing that our sheets are kind to your skin and health.
TENCEL™ lyocell is made from 100% sustainably sourced eucalyptus wood. The water and more than 99% of the chemicals used in the manufacturing process are recycled in a closed loop process.
