Dimensions:

  • Dryer Ball - 8 cm diameter (60g each)
  • Organic Cotton Bag - 28 x 20 cm

How to Use

Put your dryer balls in the dryer with your wet laundry. As they need room to bounce and play with wet clothes and linens, dryer balls do their best and fastest work when the dryer is not crammed full. You’ll find that two medium-size loads will dry faster and more efficiently than one heavy load. The number of dryer balls per load depends on the loads of laundry. A good gauge would be 2-3 balls for small to medium load and 6 balls for heavier load.

Care

Caring for wool dryer balls is easy. Simply leave it in the dryer or in any well-ventilated area. Wool needs to breathe so do not store them in plastic.

Sometimes after lots of runs in the dryer, the heat dries out your wool dryer balls such that they are unable to absorb humidity. You can restore your dryer balls by washing them in hot water on a gentle cycle and then drying on high heat. This will regenerate the wool!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are wool dryer balls?

Our dryer balls are made of tightly packed wool that is a natural alternative to dryer sheets and fabric softeners which contains harmful chemicals. Wool dryer balls are more efficient as they reduce drying time by about 25%, consuming less energy and are more environmentally friendly. These reusable balls are also made to last - they can be used for up to 1,000 loads. Laundry time is made better with your clothes coming out softer and less wrinkly!

How do wool dryer balls work?

Wool dryer balls reduce drying time as they prevent items from bunching together and create a free airflow in the dryer. They also minimize wrinkles by keeping wet clothes from bunching together - the more your clothes move, the less wrinkly they’ll come out. The gentle friction whilst brushing through the fibers helps relax the fabric, making it feel softer to the touch.

How to use dryer balls?

Because they need room to bounce and play with wet clothes and linens, dryer balls do their best and fastest work when the dryer is not crammed full. You’ll find that two medium-size loads will dry faster and more efficiently than one heavy load.

How many dryer balls per load?

It depends on the loads of laundry. A good gauge would be 2-3 balls for small to medium load and 6 balls for heavier load.

Do dryer balls reduce lint?

As the dryer ball bounces within the machine, it brushes through and separates the items in your laundry so air can circulate evenly between them, which helps loosen lint and even pet hair. Dryer balls also create mild humidity within your dryer that keeps clothes from over-drying (which can lead to static cling and lint) when they soak up moisture and heat.

How long do dryer balls last?

These reusable dryer balls can be used over and over and over again for up to 1,000 loads. It can last for 2-4 years depending on the frequency of usage.

Dryer balls vs dryer sheets vs fabric softener

Wool dryer balls are an eco-friendly swap to dryer sheets and fabric softeners which often contain potentially toxic chemicals that can coat your laundry and irritate skin. If you’d like to add in some scent, add a few drops of essential oil on the dryer balls before placing them in the dryer.

Are dryer balls bad for your dryer?

It does not damage the machine as dryer balls are soft and light, it is also compatible with both gas and electric dryers.

Can you use wool dryer balls in washing machines?

Sometimes after lots of runs in the dryer, the heat over dries your wool dryer balls such that they become so dry and are unable to absorb moisture. You can restore your dryer balls by washing them in hot water on a gentle cycle and then drying on high heat. This will regenerate the wool to gain back its absorptive property.
