Why do hand towels smell so quickly in Singapore?

Because they rarely get the chance to dry. At 82 to 84% humidity year-round, a towel that gets used a dozen times a day stays damp on the rack, and that dampness is what odour-causing bacteria need to multiply.

Both our ranges are built against this: the silver-infused towels are treated toeliminate up to 99% of odour-causing bacteria, and bamboo fibre does not hold long-term moisture, which starves bacteria of the damp they live on.

Silver-infused cotton or bamboo: which should I choose?

Silver-infused cotton hand towel if you want the plush hotel feel: 650g combed long-staple cotton with SILVERPLUS® protection assured for up to 50 launderings, in four colours.

Bamboo towel if you want a lighter towel that dries fastest on the rack, is naturally hypoallergenic and eco-friendly, and costs less. There is no wrong answer; they solve the same humid-bathroom problem two different ways.

How often should I change my hand towel?

More often than you would in a drier climate. Every two to three days is a sensible rhythm for a shared bathroom here, and sooner if the towel is staying damp.

That is why ours come in sets of two, and why the bundles make the rotation easy: one in use, one in the wash.

How do I care for these towels?

Wash at or below 60°C, with dark colours washed separately, and tumble dry at medium heat. Do not iron or dry clean, and avoid bleach or detergents containing bleach, which damage the fibres and the antibacterial treatment.

Do they come with a hanging loop?

Yes, every hand towel includes a towel loop. Hanging a towel fully open on a hook, rather than folded over a rail, is one of the simplest ways to help it dry faster between uses in this climate.
