We wanted a colour that feels steady but gentle, comforting without feeling too heavy. Something that helps you slow down and feel at ease the moment you step into your room.

As a bedding brand, we always keep an eye on what’s happening in the market, from home trends to what colours people are loving right now. And we couldn’t miss the colour of the year. 

Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2025, Mocha Mousse, celebrates the same warmth and calm that inspired our own Mocha shade. It’s soft, soothing, and perfectly in tune with what people are looking for - comfort, balance, and a touch of nature in their homes.

Besides the trend, what truly moved us was the season. With Christmas just around the corner, we wanted to create something that feels warm, cosy, and perfect for winding down after festive nights.

When the colour Mocha started making waves as one of 2025’s top shades, we wanted to hear how people felt about it. Across design forums, Reddit threads, and even casual chats on Quora, one thing was clear - this colour has struck a chord.

Many described Mocha as “warm but not heavy,” “the kind of neutral that never feels dull,” and “a colour that makes any space feel calm and inviting.” Some loved its link to nature and coffee, calling it “a comforting shade that feels like a morning ritual.”

Others saw it as the perfect middle ground between beige and brown; soft enough for minimalist spaces yet rich enough to bring depth to modern interiors. 

One Reddit user shared, “Personally, I really like Mocha Mousse. I wouldn’t want to live in a room of just that colour, but it’s great as an accent. I’m going to start playing around with it and see what I can come up with.”

As we mentioned earlier, the Christmas season was one of the inspirations behind the creation of our Mocha shade. When we were designing this colour, we wanted something that captured the warmth, comfort, and calm that this time of year brings.

In Singapore, Christmas looks a little different, no snow or fireplaces, but plenty of sparkle and warmth in the air. Orchard Road lights up with dazzling decorations, families and friends gather for festive dinners, and cafés buzz with the scent of cinnamon and coffee.

We imagined Mocha as a colour that mirrors these moments, warm like a cup of hot chocolate shared after a long day of shopping, grounded like a freshly brewed latte enjoyed with friends, and gentle enough to bring calm after the excitement of festive nights.

We also looked at it from a consumer’s perspective. Around this time of year, people often want something that brings the holiday feeling into their homes, or a thoughtful gift to share with loved ones. That’s how the idea for our Signature TENCEL™ Collection in Mocha came to life.

We don’t just want you to have a joyful festive season. We also hope you can quickly find your balance again after all the celebrations. As life gets busy and the year comes to an end, Mocha serves as a gentle reminder to pause, unwind, and ease the pressure - starting from the comfort of your own bed.

Crafting the Perfect Mocha Shade

Creating the right shade of Mocha was a mix of research, testing, and instinct. We started by looking at colour trends and lifestyle changes, noticing how more people are drawn to tones that feel natural, calm, and comforting. We wanted our Mocha to capture that same feeling - but still have something that felt uniquely Weavve.

When we first showed the early samples to our team, we didn’t just ask if they liked the colour - we asked how it made them feel. The answers came quickly: warm, calm, and cosy. That was the moment we knew we were on the right path.

Our factory sent over several swatches in different shades of brown - some warmer, some cooler, and others with a touch of taupe or caramel. The design team reviewed each sample under different lighting conditions to see how the colour looked in both natural daylight and soft indoor light.

It took a few rounds of testing and small adjustments before we found the perfect balance. Each iteration brought us closer to the Mocha that now graces our Signature TENCEL™ sheets: timeless, versatile, and easy on the eyes.

We chose to introduce Mocha in our TENCEL™ fabric because of how beautifully the material interacts with light. Its smooth, silky texture enhances the depth of the shade, making it look soft and luxurious at every angle. 

This shade also fits with our existing bedding palette, from Stone White and Cloud White to Sand Taupe and Burnt Orange, creating an earthy, calming harmony across the collection.
