What is the purpose of mattress covers and pillow protectors?

You wash your sheets every week. You will never wash your mattress. In Singapore's climate, where every night adds a little sweat and the air never really dries anything out, a protector is the difference between bedding that ages and bedding that lasts.

Both bed protectors go on under your fitted sheet and pillowcases and disappear. The only time you will notice them is the day something spills, which is exactly the point.

Do I really need a mattress protector in Singapore?

More here than almost anywhere. Warm nights mean more sweat, and humid air means whatever reaches the mattress takes longer to dry, so moisture, oils and stains build up in a surface you cannot launder. A protector takes all of that instead, then comes off and washes at up to 60°C. Your mattress, and whoever inherits it after a spilled kopi, will thank you.

Will a waterproof bed cover make my bed feel hot or crinkly?

Not this one. The waterproof layer sits under a knit of 100% TENCEL™ Lyocell, which wicks moisture away from the body and helps regulate temperature, and the membrane itself is whisper-quiet. No rustling when you turn over, no plasticky surface heat: the two complaints traditional protectors are known for are the two things ours was designed around.

Does the mattress protector go over or under my fitted sheet?

Under. The mattress protector fits like a fitted sheet with a fully elasticated 360° skirt, and your usual fitted sheet goes over it. The pillow and bolster protectors zip on first, with your regular cases over the top. Once the bed is made, you will not see or feel any of them.

Do bed protectors help with dust mites?

Our pillow and bolster protectors form a hypoallergenic, anti-dust mite barrier between you and the pillow, which matters because pillows sit inches from your face all night. The mattress protector is hypoallergenic too, and because it washes regularly at up to 60°C, it keeps the sleep surface far easier to keep fresh than a bare mattress.

Will it fit my mattress and pillows?

The mattress protector comes in five sizes, from Cot (70 × 135cm) through Single, Super Single and Queen to King (182 × 190cm), and stretches over mattress depths of up to 40cm.

The pillow protector fits standard pillows at 75 × 50cm with a generous three-sided zip, and the bolster protector runs 95cm long by 25cm in diameter.

How often should I wash a bed protector?

Wash it with your regular bedding rotation every few weeks, and promptly after any spill. All our protectors wash at or below 60°C and tumble dry on low, with no ironing, bleach or dry cleaning needed, so a frequent wash routine takes no extra effort.

Can I use these for kids' beds?

That is one of the best uses for them. The mattress protector comes in a Cot size (70 × 135 × 20cm) that works well with most standard cribs, and the same whisper-quiet, PVC-free waterproofing handles night-time accidents without turning the bed into a plastic sheet. Everything is Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified and free from phthalates, vinyl and PVC.
